Guild Programs/Workshops
At this time I have two Programs I would love to share with your guild. The Lecture cost is $250 ($200 when booked with a workshop)
Everything Old is New Again - Sharing examples of quilts where vintage textiles and techniques are set among time honored blocks with current quilting fabrics to create a lovely heirloom which can be enjoyed for years and passed on for future blessings. Bring your hankies, embroidered table runners, etc., and see how they can be used in one of your quilts.
My Quilting Journey - Trunk Show - It's the same today as when we were in Kindergarten, we still love to Show and Tell. The opportunity to share my quilting journey and the quilts I've made with you will be a pure joy for which I will be truly grateful.
Scripture admonishes us to "Go and Tell." I feel honored to have the privilege to share the blessings and design inspirations I've received as God has directed me step by step in this most joyous adventure.
Travel - Flight from Kansas City, MO at best rate, plus baggage fees, overnight accommodations, and meals. If within 300 miles, I will drive. Mileage fees are negotiable.
Workshops - $250 - 3 Hours
Simply Hankies - This is a great way to get your favorite Hankies and Vintage Textiles out of the drawer and display them for all to enjoy. We will use my Simply Hankies, Too! pattern to preserve these items in a wall/topper size quilt or pillow top. I will share ideas and techniques in how to handle these delicate items along with hints for cleaning those with age/storage stains.
Basket of Blooms Applique - This is a needle turn applique workshop where I will instruct you in using the Back Basting method. This technique will revolutionize your hand applique. You'll be amazed at how quickly you will be able to begin appliqueing your piece to your background. No freezer paper drawing and redrawing, or gluing. You'll be stitching in no time!
Wreath of Roses - Wool Applique - You will absolutely love working with these hand dyed wools. They are vibrantly rich in color with great color variation in each piece for shading your applique. They are also very quick and easy to work with for instant gratification. A small technique starter kit will be available with additional patterns and wool kits as well. The choice is up to you. Scripture says this about working with wool, "She looks for wool and flax and works with her hands in delight."
