About Us

Rose Cottage Quilts began as I sat in an airport leafing through a decorating magazine while waiting to board my plane.  Just before coming to the airport I had gathered dozens of my mother's handkerchiefs, though not quite sure what I would do with them.  They were very pretty with their floral desiings and brought a nostalgic warm feeling of home.  I turned to a page in my magazine with a cozy quilt covered bed in a cottage home.  As I saw this page, I knew what I was to do with my mother's handkerchiefs.

Within a year of this I not only had all the tools and the room I would need for quilting, I had also finished my "Mom's Hankies" quilt.  God directed my every step and blessed me through many different people along the way, keeping me moving forward in this adventure.

Since then I have stitched many, many quilts, wallhangings and pillows.  The common "thread" that has been woven through my quilts is a desire to preserve and display many cherished family heirloom textiles in beautifully cozy and useful quilts.  As you stroll through my gallery you will see many different vintage textiles that have been preserved.  I've used handkercheifs, a border from a handed down table cloth, and remnants of a favorite fabric used in curtains while my daughter was growing up.  You will even see that I have hightlighted in my Remembrance Sampler, the medallion center of a lovely applique and crochet cutwork panel from a beautiful shower curtain my daughter chose for me.  All these lovely textiles have been refashioned into beautifully cozy quilts that will warm hearts for years to come.

In Scripture it says "old things have passed away, behold I make all things new."  Only a holy God can take a broken vessel and cleanse it, repair it's flaws, take away anything not pleasing to Him and cause it to shine new for His glory.  He doesn't throw out the broken vessel, but refashions it to be displayed for His glory.  This is the verse God brought to my heart to sum up the culmination of my quilt designs.  This is how He gave me the title "Everything Old is New Again."  This phrase has been used in many ways through the years but this is it's true meaning at Rose Cottage.  This is the heart of Rose Cottage Quilts, to preserve all that is precious and wonderful that has been handed down.  A love of home and family and most importantly a passion to know and serve a holy God.  This is the legacy I want to pass on for future blessings.

My husband has been a great blessing, support, and provider throughout this adventure, without whom Rose Cottage Quilts could not exist.  He is also now the craftsman who fashions planks of oak and poplar into the beautiful quilt racks you will see displayed in our Quilt Rack gallery.  Together we pray that you have been blessed by your visit and more importantly that you too will intimately KNOW the one and only true God, and His son, Jesus Christ, whom He sent, that you may have eternal life in Him.

With love in Jesus,
