Rose Parade

56" Square

Growing up in Santa Rosa, California we celebrated an annual Luther Burbank Rose Festival with a Rose Parade in mid-May.  In my early childhood we had a profusion of roses that ran the entire length of our driveway.  Maybe this is why I've grown to love roses so much.  As you see in many of my quilt designs, the central theme is roses.  When I first started quilting I had the hardest time finding fabrics with the florals I'd so grown to love.  Now I can't sew fast enough to keep up with all the lovely rose fabrics that are available.
I'll just have to keep at it.

"The wilderness and the desert will be glad,
  and the desert will rejoice and blossom;
    like the rose it will blossom profusely
and rejoice with rejoicing and shout of joy...
         They will see the glory of the Lord,
                  the majesty of our God."
                              Isaiah 35:1,2
